I’ve written a lot in the past about the interior design process, with focus mainly on planning or space, colour, wallpaper, furniture, accent lighting, artwork and soft furnishings however these pieces alone aren’t enough to deliver you a finished room. You may find that your room lacks those final touches, the things that add warmth, character and more importantly your personal story.
I offer a service at the end of the design process where my clients allocate me an overall budget and I go out and shop for items to finish the room. Often working with pieces that they already have by adding to their collection but sometimes starting from scratch. For instance everything you see in the image below was sourced for my client without these pieces the space would feel bare and uninviting. When I went to my clients home to finish the space with decorative items at the end he said “I can’t believe how you’ve transformed this place in just an hour. I loved it before with all of my new furniture and artwork, but now it feels finished, like a proper home”
So I thought I would share with you some of my favourite online suppliers and also a couple of local stores that I often use when providing this service. I find these stores to be well priced, and offer unique items that bring my designs together.
