If you saw my post a few months back you would be aware that I entered 3 designs into the Designer Rugs Evolve competition in September. Having studied Fine Art & Design much of this degree was practical work where I held my own exhibition of painted artwork, drawings and sculptures. I’ve always had a passion for creating through different mediums, but never have I had the chance to turn that passion into product design.
Unfortunately this time around my designs weren’t chosen to be in the finals, but I’m not feeling disheartened. It was my first attempt at anything like this and a wonderful process to go through, getting back to putting pencil to paper and creating something from a blank canvas. I find the whole process exhilarating and hope to do more through my business in the future.
Nevertheless I wanted to share with you the 3 designs put forward for the competition. I’m not necessarily seeking feedback (but of course I’m open to it), but it’s important for me to put my designs out there. These feel so much more personal than my interior designs for my clients, there’s something about creating from scratch with no direction from a client that exposes you creatively, so be gentle on me, but feel free to email me on [email protected] with any comments positive and negative 🙂
