I was at a client’s home today installing some of the finishing touches to a project. I really enjoy it when I can get a bit hands on and be there to see it all take shape.
In this project I designed three bedrooms, master bedroom and two girls’ rooms. The inspiration for the girls rooms was really based around colour. Pinks, grey’s purples, blues, played a big part in the designs. We had such fun getting these personalised letters made by Lily Mae Designs whom I featured in an earlier blog post (click here to read Lily Mae post). We got to choose fabric combinations that worked well with the rest of the design. Today I also installed this simple yet so effective wall decal called confetti from Lark Store, another of my favourite children’s décor suppliers. This really brightened up a wall that otherwise would have felt bland as it is a long wall and would have needed lots of artwork to provide impact so a wall decal was a perfect solution.
In the master bedroom our inspiration was a mix of French Provincial pieces with a hint of coastal charm mainly due to the colours and textures. A soft colour palette with hits of aqua (as my client was an absolute aqua lover!) came together to make the space feel balanced and inviting. We had the occasional chair and bed stool custom made by Twist Lifestyle, and the bedhead was made by my upholsterer.
Once the spaces are all finalised I’ll share with you the completed pictures, until then I hope you enjoy these images of the smaller details as they are coming together.
