Master bedroom design

I love the way this bedroom turned out so I wanted to share it with you all. This is part of a larger project that I’ve been working over the past 18 months. We’ve been phasing the project across different areas of the home and I’m currently working on redesigning the kitchen.

The Master bedroom was one room that didn’t need a lot of work or budget. Here we added a new paint colour, wallpaper behind the bed from Cloth Fabric, a custom designed and made bedhead, custom cabinetry to create a window seat with a custom made window cushion with contrast piping and scatter cushions. These really were the finishing touches to a room that had great bones, but the space now feels so calm and bright and truly inviting. It doesn’t take much to transform a room, I’m a big fan of recycling pieces where I can and adding impact through decoration as we did here.

So don’t be afraid to add colour or wallpaper and create a feature, why not have a custom made bedhead in a fabric and design of your choice? Use studs for glamour, contrast piping for a more subtle look or have it buttoned for a traditional bedroom. Our bedroom is our retreat, so treat yours to a freshen up, you won’t regret it!
