Is it already December? Where did 2014 go? Most of us are busy trying to get organised for the festive season. I’m hoping that an element of this includes decorating your home to create that festive cheer. I find it all the more important to do this in my own home, after 10 years of living in Australia but originally being from the UK and experiencing the traditional cold Christmas I find I need to try a little harder with my decorating to make this time feel as magical as Christmas can be. I know, I know, I’d rather be living in this beautiful climate, but at Christmas I do love a cold crisp day, the snow on the ground, and sitting in front of an open fire with a glass of mulled wine.
So how do you decorate your home at Christmas? Are you a traditionalist with a green tree, and red, gold, and green decorations? Or do you prefer a more contemporary style, a more refined tree with fewer silver and white decorations, or something more handmade? There are many alternatives to the traditional decorations that we all grew up with so if you don’t want a traditional green tree this year with all the tinsel and trimmings there are plenty of other ideas to choose from.
