Pantone refers to its new green as, “A refreshing and revitalising shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings”, which is very apt for this time of year.
…And not really all that surprising as green is the colour of nature and health, representing: growth, nature, money, fertility and safety. It’s a relaxing yet vibrant colour that many of us enjoy and is thought to has restorative properties…perfect for our homes.
And here’s an interesting fact …the human eye is most sensitive to and able to discern most shades of green, which is why it’s used in night vision goggles!
The new zesty yellow-green Pantone shade is spring like, when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Like all greens, it’s an emotionally positive colour and can bring balance and harmony to the space where we use that.
The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world. This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of green in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and design choices globally.
With strong leaf prints or floral’s, and even to accentuate large windows framing the outside world, this and other greens can work perfectly in your home as an accent. Think of it in terms of pictures, rugs, cushions and or furniture.
Here’s a selection of interesting green pieces to help you imagine how you could us it in your home.
