My brief for this client was two fold, the main brief was to update the dated finishes in the home and make sense of the floor plan. The back open plan kitchen/living area and the separate living/dining room wasn’t working. The second part of the brief was to bring more light into darker rooms such as the entry and main living room as well as enlarging the ensuite to make this more usable.

To address the brief we worked on a wholistic palette that we would weave throughout the main areas. Choosing light timbers, warm greys, fresh whites and touches of blue and green throughout this was a great way to update the home. We renovated the back room kitchen and laundry and I turned the space next to the kitchen into a large dining area. By moving the dining out of the living area I was able to create a larger living space with a separate sitting room. We added in skylights to the darker rooms and I widened the ensuite by taking some space from the large main bedroom. I reconfigured the bathrooms for better flow and added in our colour palette for consistency. Accent wallpapers, coupled with new furnishings and lighting really brought this home into 2024.
