Hi All. I’m really excited to be designing a nursery for a client I worked with last year. My client has a lovely style, clean, modern with a love for anything scandi.
So we talked about how to decorate the nursery, and not knowing if she is having a boy or a girl it made it easy to bring those scandi aesthetics in to play without being bias to any one gender. By using light american oak timbers, lots of clean black and whites and natural elements such as trees wallpaper, natural colours and textures we can create a calm and inspiring space that is well designed practical and functional, but wont feel too baby as the little one grows.
The thing I find with a lot of selections for nurseries is that you will need to change things quite quickly. Wall decals, wallpapers, fabrics and accessories all themed with bright colours can look dated very quickly. Why not try something different by introducing a fun wallpaper that could be used in many areas of the home but would work equally as well in a nursery. Miss Print from the UK is a perfect example of this. Also why not try a basic black and white, grey and white, or green and sand base as the main colours in the room. The add in more if you feel like you need it through cushions, throws and artwork, or maybe even a small area rug. I believe this will deliver a much more sophisticated nursery that your bub can grow into.
