10 years is a long time…by anyone’s standards. So, I was thrilled to be invited by the Soundslike Home team to celebrate their 10-year collaboration with high-end outdoor furniture specialist, MAMAGREEN.
The event brought together designers, furniture specialists and customers from Sydney and beyond on Thursday 16 March, at Soundslike Home HQ in Lilyfield, Sydney.
Outdoor living is such a huge part of our design culture in Australia. So, it’s no surprise that the Belgian born funky, innovative and ecologically sound, ‘MAMAGREEN’, brand has gone from strength to strength. Founded by CEO, Vincent Cantaert, in 2007, MAMAGREEN has now become iconic not just in Australia but around the world. And even boasts A-list clients.
Dedicated to combining luxurious comfort with contemporary beauty and quality, the MAMAGREEN collection includes bold, minimalistic and fully customisable designs in bright colours and patterns. They successfully blend natural with industrial materials, in a sophisticated mix using the best durable, recycled and recyclable materials to withstand even the harshest elements.
“It’s our intention, to help create inspiring residential and public spaces, where the body and mind can relax and you can enjoy life outdoors at the fullest. MAMAGREEN is all about happiness”, comments founder and CEO, Vincent Cantaert.
And whilst Soundslike Home has been around longer – Sacha Bogatai, Damian Barry and their team have been there every step of the way, bringing functional and innovative homewares, furniture (like MAMAGREEN), and wall-art to retailers and the design trade around Australia.
The night was a great success, with Soundslike Home HQ decked out in MAMAGREEN products from head to toe. The Living Room’s resident design guru, James Treble, hosted the evening in his usual vibrant and funny style. James welcomed MAMAGREEN’s CEO, Vincent Cantaert, to the stage to talk design and all things MAMAGREEN. Also on stage were various MAMAGREEN advocates, including designers and actress, singer and Play School host, Justine Clarke.
I got the opportunity to catch Vincent Cantaert, before the official part of the evening began to talk about his products. I was delighted that he knew about SmartSpace Interiors, thanks to a recent project of mine based at Northbridge that he loved where we used the Zudu range and completely customised it into a 7 metre long outdoor sofa setting with customised coffee tables, sun loungers and cube seating. He also talked passionately about the foothold MAMAGREEN is gaining in the US and Asia.
It was also great to catch James Treble, as our paths regularly cross at design events and he’s always fun to talk to ?.
