The humble stool

Oct 8, 2012 | Anoushka's Blog

I’m not quite sure what it is about this humble piece of furniture but I know for sure that I’m addicted to looking for the perfect pieces for my home. You can’t deny that in almost every home interior magazine or online blog there are at least two or three stools featured as part of an interior or simply on their own as a statement piece. But why? Why are we so taken with the humble stool? Perhaps it’s because you can use these little guys in so many ways…

As a side table:

Ikea Frosta stool great as a side table. Paint it any colour you wish or simply leave it natural.

To sit on:

To simply add warmth and interest to a room:

You can have fun with the design of the piece:

Chrome drum stool from Matt Blatt, great for smaller spaces as reflects light.

You can get these from any home furniture store from Ikea to Matt Blatt, Freedom to Coco Republic. My favourite supplier Sounds Like Home has the most awesome range of timber stools, check them out.

If you’re as obsessed as I am about about stools then please send me your photos of how you use them in your home.
